HELP BUILD NEW HORIZONS BOOKS

A retro sci-fi inspired Oakland bookstore built around curiosity, local voices, unexpected discovery, and the belief that diverse stories still matter.

WHY I’M BUILDING THIS

New Horizons Books started as an idea about discovery.

Not just buying books, but stumbling into stories, perspectives, and small human moments you didn’t know you needed.

I wanted to build something that felt personal. A bookstore built around curiosity, local voices, strange little discoveries, and the feeling of wandering into something unexpected.

A place for:

  • wrapped mystery books paired with coffee and tea

  • Bay Area writers and independent publishers

  • thoughtful shelves built around perspective and culture

  • greeting cards that say the things people actually mean

  • people who still believe bookstores can feel a little magical

Right now, this project is still in its earliest stages.

This page is the first public step toward bringing it into the world.

THANKS FOR RIDING ALONG EARLY

Your donation during these earliest stages helps shape the foundation of New Horizons Books before the doors even officially open.

That means more than I can probably put into words.

This project is being built slowly, thoughtfully, and with a lot of care.

I’m grateful you found your way here.
